Discounted Internet and tablets: do you qualify?

Constant Therapy | General health

At Constant Therapy, we’re committed to making our life-changing mobile speech and cognitive therapy program accessible to everyone who needs it. We wrote a post a few weeks ago about offsetting the cost of Constant Therapy.

We also know that having a reliable Internet connection and a working iPad, Chromebook, or smartphone (sometimes called a “device” or “tablet”) is critical to using Constant Therapy. In this article, we highlight ways you may qualify for discounted Internet access and devices through government programs in the US at the federal or state level.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and the Federal Lifeline Program

These programs provide discounted Internet access to those who qualify for government assistance programs like SNAP, Medicaid, or SSI. With these programs, you can receive:

  • At least $30 per month off your Internet bill
  • A one-time discount of $100 for a tablet or laptop

And with some Internet providers, you can get access to high-speed internet for free and a tablet for as little as ten dollars.

4 steps to determine if you qualify for benefits

(First, if you live in California, Oregon, or Texas, you may qualify for additional benefits. Click on your state to see those benefits.)

If you live in any other state besides California, Oregon, or Texas, the process is just 4 steps:

  1. See if you qualify for Lifeline or the ACP by clicking on these links.
  2. Apply online with your Social Security number or Tribal Identification number and wait to receive confirmation of enrollment via email.
  3. Contact your Internet provider. If they participate in the Lifeline program, then you can apply the ACP or Lifeline benefits to your existing plan. If they don’t, find a participating provider here.
  4. Looking for a discounted tablet? Click here to find local internet providers that also offer discounted tablets.
